Oh hey there,
I'm Josh .
I'm a landscape, time-lapse, and portrait photographer based out of the Twin Cities, Minnesota. I chase the weather, the milky way, the aurora borealis, and Bigfoot. I'm just kidding on that last one. In all my adventures I've yet to encounter a Sasquatch but I always have my camera locked, loaded, and ready just in case. Photography allows me to tell a story in a way that I could not do with words. I have never excelled at or enjoyed writing. I'm glad that a single picture can speak a thousand words.
"Oh, the weather outside is weather!"
~ Forgetting Sarah Marshall
In my portrait photography my goal is to capture a single moment for my client’s story. I have experience in photographing engagements, newborns, family portraits, and weddings. With my background in meteorology, not only am I great at weather related small talk with just about anyone but I can also help my clients plan out their day with the latest forecast.
A single image captures a moment, a time-lapse brings that moment alive!
My favorite thing to shoot is time-lapse photography. This is where I take hundreds, at times a thousands, of single images over a set period of time at regular intervals. Then I sequence them together to produce a sped up version of a landscape. Time-lapses are a way for me to show the beauty I witnessed to others. Some of my time-lapses were photographed in just a few minutes while take 4+ hours. A lot of my single images from my landscape, night sky, and weather gallery are single images from a larger time-lapse.
